Good morning. We trust you had an enjoyable weekend.
Can you identify with the psalmist who wrote:
"Lord , you alone are my portion and my cup; you make my lot secure. The boundary lines have fallen for me in pleasant places; surely I have a delightful inheritance." (Psalms 16:5-6)
That is how it felt in our church meeting yesterday evening.
We were moved out our comfort zone into a place of complete dependence on God when our lead elder, asked the musos to lead us as we trusted God to put a new song in our mouths.
Totally unrehearsed, each muso mentioned a phrase. We as a congregation then picked up on this and started singing. The words went something like this:
"God loves me so
I will bow down and worship Him.
He heals me
I will bow down and worship Him
He is my King and Lord
I will bow down and worship Him"
There was an amazing sense of God's presence as for a number of minutes we sang being led by Holy Spirit.
Psalm 40:3 became a reality. "He put a new song in my mouth, a hymn of praise to our God."
When we step back and allow God to lead us, His presence becomes almost tangible.
Let's go into the new week with Psalm 98:1 as our battle cry.
"Sing to the Lord a new song, for he has done marvelous things; his right hand and his holy arm have worked salvation for him."
Have a good start to a good week.
Blessings
Mike and Daphne
