Good morning.
As followers of Christ we so easily get caught up with discussing peripheral issues which seem more important than the main issue. This is not a new phenomenon. Jesus' disciples fell into this trap as well.
"Then they gathered around him and asked him, “Lord, are you at this time going to restore the kingdom to Israel?” (Acts 1:6)
Jesus responds by telling them to focus on the matter at hand - wait for God's gift, the baptism with Holy Spirit. When this happens 2 things will result:
• You will receive power
• You will be my witnesses
"He said to them: “It is not for you to know the times or dates the Father has set by his own authority. But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” (Acts 1:7-8)
Our prayer should be:
"Spirit of the Living God fall fresh on me
Spirit of the Living God fall fresh on me
Melt me, mold me, fill me, use me
Spirit of the Living God fall fresh on me"
Let us keep the main thing, the main thing, today.
Blessings.
