Good morning
"But the fruit of the Spirit [the result of His presence within us] is love [unselfish concern for others], joy, [inner] peace, patience [not the ability to wait, but how we act while waiting], kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such things there is no law." (Galatians 5:22-23 AMP)
Don't you like the way the Amplified Version amplifies "patience "? "Not the ability to wait, but how we act while waiting".
Waiting is not one of my (Mike) strengths. Sitting in traffic is my nemesis. I’ve had strange thoughts like going off-roading in order to pass the traffic or going down the emergency lane. I don't know why I get so impatient in a traffic jam.
Do you ever get impatient with God? Isaiah reminds us: "those who wait on the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint." (Isaiah 40:31)
A careful examination of this verse tells us 4 results of waiting patiently on God.
• We will renew our strength
• We shall mount up with wings as eagles
• We shall run and not grow weary
• We shall walk and not faint.
I dont know about you, I need all of these.
Will you join us in praying that Holy Spirit's fruit of patience will increase and be evident in our lives.
Blessings.
Mike and Daphne
