Good morning.
We trust you are well having endured the cold on Youth Day. The publuc holiday enabled us to relax and not be consumed by life's worries. Some of us head back to the coal face today and will be reminded of some of the pressures we face.
The psalmist reminds us that "God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble....The Lord Almighty is with us; the God of Jacob is our fortress."
(Psalm 46:1, 7)
Followers of Christ draw solace from this knowledge which is far more than an intellectual understanding. Followers of Christ have a deep conviction that God is who He said He is and will will do what He said He will do.
The psalmist reminds us that God says, “Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.” (Psalm 46:10) When we do this, "the Lord Almighty is with us; the God of Jacob is our fortress. (Psalm 46:11)
What the Lord said to Joshua equally apples to us today. "... I am with you as I was with Moses." (Joshua 3:7)
No matter what we may face today, God is with us. He is our strength and refuge.
Have a good day.
Blessings.
Mike and Daphne
