Twice Fruitful
In Words & Encouragement

I had a sense that part of the result of this fruitfulness in Gen 41: 51-52 is a deeper more real relationship with the Lord... In Gen 48:14-16 Jacob (Israel) blesses Manasseh and Ephraim vs 13 and blesses Joseph vs 16 Ampl vs The redeeming Angel [that is, the Angel the Redeemer - not a created being but the Lord Himself] Who has redeemed me continually from every evil, bless the lads! And let my name be perpetuated (be kept alive) in them [may they be worthy of having their name coupled (or connected) with mine], and the names of my forefathers Abraham and Isaac; and let them become a multitude in the midst of the earth. Ephraim and Manasseh were blessed with Jacobs name which speaks to me of being in relationship with the Lord. Being part of Christs body. With relationship comes authority; knowing who we are as the body of Christ. Israel means: he will rule as God; one who struggles with God and prevails, they are God’s people, chosen for a purpose - and Gods purpose was to make Israel into a kingdom of priests - a holy nation. The saints are created in Christ, God’s people chosen for a purpose. Jacob says vs 15 that God Himself, had been his Shepherd and had led and fed him from the time he came into being until that day... I pray that we may be in such good relationship with our God, that we can also say He is our Shepherd and has led and fed us from the beginning till this day. That our authority is in knowing Him and that we are His chosen people and have purpose to make His name known and His kingdom to come. Will You Lord call others into relationship with Yourself; and use us to spread Your fragrance to others and make You known..
