Good morning to you.
One of the great things about having a personal relationship with the Father is that we get to know His voice. We learn to distinguish between God's voice and the "voices" of others.
When Jesus tells the story of the good shepherd, He has this to say: "The gatekeeper opens the gate for him, and the sheep listen to his voice. He calls his own sheep by name and leads them out. When he has brought out all his own, he goes on ahead of them, and his sheep follow him because they know his voice. But they will never follow a stranger; in fact, they will run away from him because they do not recognize a stranger’s voice.” (John 10:3-5)
It is so easy to become distracted by the voices around us. Some of the voices we have identified over the years:
• Disappointment
• Offence
• Feeling neglected / overlooked
• Loneliness
• Gossip
• Offence on behalf of someone else
• Unhappiness
One of the blessings of a personal relationship with the Father is that He has our best interests at heart. That is why He gave us Holy Spirit. Jesus said: "But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all the truth..." (John 16:13)
Let us listen to His voice and allow Holy Spirit to guide us.
Have a blessed day.
