Hi. We trust you are well this morning.
When we look around us, it can become depressing seeing people are struggling. Sometimes our response to all this is like that of Gideon when the angel of the Lord appeared to him.
“Pardon me, my Lord,” Gideon replied, “but if the Lord is with us, why has all this happened to us? Where are all his wonders that our ancestors told us about when they said, ‘Did not the Lord bring us up out of Egypt?’ But now the Lord has abandoned us and given us into the hand of Midian.” (Judges 6:13)
However, the words of the angel to Gideon is how God sees us as followers of Christ. , “The Lord is with you, mighty warrior.”
(Judges 6:12)
Our encouragement for you today is summed up in the words of Hebrews 12:1-3
"Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. Consider him who endured such opposition from sinners, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart."
Lift your focus from the circumstances around you and focus on Him today.
Blessings.
Mike and Daphne
