Good morning.
When life continuosly throws us curve balls, we can easily become despondent. When this happens, as followers of Christ, we find hope by turning to God and His Word.
"For everything that was written in the past was written to teach us, so that through the endurance taught in the Scriptures and the encouragement they provide we might have hope." (Romans 15:4)
"We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure." (Hebrews 6:19)
"And hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us." (Romans 5:5)
The words of the chorus of the old hymn has this to say to us:
"Now let us have a little talk with Jesus
Let us tell Him all about our troubles
He will hear our faintest cry, He will answer by and by
And when you feel a little prayer wheel turnin'
And you will know a little fire is burnin'
Find a little talk with Jesus makes it right."
As we go into the weekend, here is a word of encouragement from Paul. "May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit."
(Romans 15:13)
Enjoy a restful weekend.
Blessings.
Mike and Daphne
