Good morning.
Stillness is a discipline that takes continual, conscious practice. The act of stillness sharpens our senses and makes us more aware of God’s presence in our present circumstances.
It is important to fix our minds on what matters by focusing on God’s truths. As we do so, our minds are renewed.
Paul writing to his true son in the Lord says, "All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness." (2 Timothy 3:16)
"For the word of God is alive and active... it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart." (Hebrews 4:12)
As we take time to meditate on the Word, Holy Spirit teaches us. As we apply the Word we will find our behaviour being corrected leading to a life of righteousness.
David, the psalmist, knew this when he said to God: "Show me your ways, Lord , teach me your paths. Guide me in your truth and teach me, for you are God my Saviour, and my hope is in you all day long."
(Psalms 25:4-5)
"Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth." (Psalms 46:10)
Blessings.
