Good morning.

Paul writing to Timothy, his son in the Lord says: "fan into flame the gift of God, which is in you ..." (2 Timothy 1:6) In verse 14 of the same chapter Paul tell Timothy to "Guard the good deposit that was entrusted to you—guard it with the help of the Holy Spirit who lives in us."

One of the best ways to guard the gifts we have been given is to use it. Jesus said, "Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house." (Matthew 5:15)

• We have been authorized for service/ministry. "Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations..."

(Matthew 28:18‭-‬19)

• We are commanded to serve/minister. "and whoever wants to be first must be your slave— just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve"

(Matthew 20:27‭-‬28)

• We are to be prepared for

service/ministry. "Christ himself gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the pastors and teachers, to equip his people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up" (Ephesians 4:11‭-‬12)

Our service/ministry functions best in the context of our church family.

Enjoy your day as you serve/minister.

Blessings.

Mike and Daphne

Good morning. David writing in Psalm 43:5 asks, "Why, my soul, are you downcast? Why so disturbed within me?" He then gives us good advice, "Put your hope in God, for I will yet praise him, my Savior
