Good morning.
Today the Christian Church celebrates Ascension Day. For followers of Christ, it is significant because it was essential for Christ to ascend to the Father for the Holy Spirit to be poured out on believers.
"But very truly I tell you, it is for your good that I am going away. Unless I go away, the Advocate will not come to you; but if I go, I will send him to you." (John 16:7)
"And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another advocate to help you and be with you forever" (John 14:16)
Knowing this reinforces the fact that we are not alone. As followers of Christ we have received assurance that Holy Spirit is with us at all times and that we have the power to face all circumstances in the power that comes from Holy Spirit in us.
"But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” After he said this, he was taken up before their very eyes, and a cloud hid him from their sight." (Acts 1:8-9)
Today we give thanks that Jesus ascended to the Father where He is seated with the Him.
Blessings.
Mike and Daphne
