Good morning
If we’re honest, we’ll probably have to admit that much of what we listen to or watch does little to sustain us spiritually. In fact, the commercial media is designed to make us feel unhappy and dissatisfied with our lives so that we buy whatever the advertisers are trying to sell.
If we consume media indiscriminately, we risk becoming cynical or shallow. It’s the spiritual equivalent of living on junk food.
Paul encourages the Philippians to practice discernment when he says, "Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things." (Philippians 4:8)
