Good morning.
God has a purpose and plan for each of us. He knows this plan from before we were conceived. At times it seems hard, so difficult, to align our plans with His plans.
Holding onto the past or overcommitting to the present can prevent us from focusing on where we are going, on what His plans for us are. We should not let obligations or circumstance dictate what we should be doing.
If we make our plans apart from God, these plans will always be “less than” what God truly wanted for us. It is through our relationship with God that we are able to develop a plan and establish goals that align with God’s will for our lives.
Proverbs 19:21 tells us that, “Many are the plans in a man’s heart, but it is the LORD’s purpose that prevails.”
We will only achieve true contentment when we discover and live according to God’s plan for our lives. Paul reminds us that "In him we were also chosen, having been predestined according to the plan of him who works out everything in conformity with the purpose of his will" (Ephesians 1:11)
Before we cast our plans in concrete we must stop and ask God whether this lines up with His plans for us and does it honour Him.
Blessings.
Mike and Daphne
