Good morning.
God knows the heart of man. It is deceitful and proud. (Jeremiah 17:9) That is why there is nothing we can or have to do to earn our salvation. Just as well, or there would be huge competition as to who has done the best in earning the reward of salvation. It is by God's grace that we are saved - brought into a right relationship with Him.
Now here's the thing: God's saving grace links us to His purpose in and through us. The joy we have through our salvation leads to action. We are not saved by good works, we are saved for good works. "For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do." (Ephesians 2:10)
There is nothing predictable about what God calls us to. God has prepared in advance good works for each of us to do in line with His purpose for each of us (i.e. before we were saved; not taken by surprise.)
God does not leave us by ourselves to get on and do the job. He knits us together with other followers of Christ to form the church. Picture the church like a jersey and each of us a stich in it. When a stitched is dropped it affects the appearance of garment.
We are saved for a purpose. "His intent was that now, through the church, the manifold wisdom of God should be made known ..." (Ephesians 3:10)
Remember the acronym T.E.A.M. Together Everyone Achieves More.
Blessings.
