Good morning.

Ecclesiastes 4:8 says: "There was a man all alone; he had neither son nor brother. There was no end to his toil, yet his eyes were not content with his wealth. “For whom am I toiling,” he asked, “and why am I depriving myself of enjoyment?” This too is meaningless— a miserable business!"

This is a picture of so many of us. Too many folk live lives of exhaustion. We need margin. It’s crucial for healthy lives.

We all have limitations - emotional, physical and time. So when the warning lights of fatigue and irritability come on, we need to be wise. "The prudent see danger and take refuge, but the simple keep going and pay the penalty." (Proverbs 22:3)

We need to stop and ask ourselves, "Why am I driven to overload my life?"

When it comes to margin we each need to build in downtime. The best way to do this is to do what Jesus said.

“Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion? Come to me. Get away with me and you’ll recover your life. I’ll show you how to take a real rest. Walk with me and work with me—watch how I do it. Learn the unforced rhythms of grace. I won’t lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you. Keep company with me and you’ll learn to live freely and lightly.”

(Matthew 11:28‭-‬30 MSG)

Blessings.
