Good morning.
Early on the first day of the week, while it was still dark, Mary Magdalene went to the tomb and discovered that Jesus was true to His Word. "Remember how he told you, while he was still with you in Galilee: ‘The Son of Man must be delivered over to the hands of sinners, be crucified and on the third day be raised again.’ ” (Luke 24:6-7)
Paul puts it like this: "For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance : that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures."
(1 Corinthians 15:3-4)
Sunday has come! He is not here; He is risen! Jesus Christ's resurrection authenticates that He is the Son of God who came into the world and did what Isaiah prophesied 700 years before this point in history. "But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, And by His stripes we are healed."
(Isaiah 53:5 NKJV)
So, as we join together with other followers of Christ in worshipping the Risen King, let's do so with gladness and thanksgiving. We have so much to be thankful for.
Blessings.
