Good morning.
One of the hallmarks of the early Church is that they cared for each other. Luke tells us "All the believers were together and had everything in common. They sold property and possessions to give to anyone who had need." (Acts 2:44-45)
Now this does not mean we need to go and sell off our stuff. Rather we need what Paul wrote: "May the God who gives endurance and encouragement give you the same attitude of mind toward each other that Christ Jesus had,"
(Romans 15:5)
And this was Christ's attitude. "In your relationships with one another, have the same mindset as Christ Jesus:" (Philippians 2:5) His mindset was to become a servant. "Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be used to his own advantage; rather, he made himself nothing by taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness."
(Philippians 2:6-7)
So, as we go about our daily life, we should keep our eyes and ears open and look for opportunities to help those who are in need.
May it oneday be said that the church of the 21st century was one to emulate because they loved, served and cared for each other.
Blessings.
