Good morning.
"The old has gone, the new is here!" If we were to take this quote at face value us "ou toppies" (old folk) would put it down to wishful thinking or hoping. No more aches and pains! But alas, it's not so.
There is a lesson to be learned here. Get the whole picture and understand the context in which a statement is made.
"Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!"
(2 Corinthians 5:17)
What a difference it makes when Christ is in the picture. He does indeed make the difference. He makes everything about us new. It is as if we were re-created, made afresh.
Do our aches and pains go away? Not necessarily. But now we focus on Jesus Christ and no longer on our circumstances, our aches and pains. Our past is dealt with. What glory that is.
This is the good news: Christ has come; the old has gone, the new is here!
We can, no, we should, shout this good news from our rooftops.
Have a great day.
Blessings.
Mike and Daphne
