Good morning.

Welcome to Friday, the last day of the work week for most people. For some it has been a good week, while for others it has been an uphill grind.

Bill Gaither penned a wonderful song, the chorus of which is both well known and encouraging.

"Because He lives

I can face tomorrow

Because He lives

All fear is gone

Because I know

He holds the future

And life is worth the living

Just because He lives"

Paul puts it like this. "Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal." (2 Corinthians 4:16‭-‬18)

Bill Gaither and Paul have a common focus: we focus on the unseen because He lives. It is only through Jesus Christ that we can face the future with confidence, no matter what our circumstances may be.

As we go through today and into the weekend, let us do so with confidence, knowing that He has everything under control.
