Good morning .
Luke 15:11-24 (This is a story of the Father.)
The son demands his inheritance, contrary to the custom of the day.
The Father’s response:- The Father doesn’t take prisoners; He hosts sons! While the son does his thing in the far off land, the Father waits patiently, looking and waiting for his son to come home. The Father is filled with compassion. He runs out to meet the son (unheard of – cultural issue). Robe of privilege. (When the servants saw someone wearing that robe they knew that he was special in that household and was to be treated as such.) Ring of access to the family fortune/inheritance. Sandals/shoes for his feet (fitted, handmade)! (So how many of you fathers know what size shoe your son/daughter wears?) The father was expecting the son to come.
So what's your view of the Father?
The song by Chris Tomlin sums it up well.
"Oh, I've heard a thousand stories of what they think You're like
But I've heard the tender whisper of love in the dead of night
And You tell me that You're pleased and that I'm never alone
You're a good, good Father
It's who You are, it's who You are, it's who You are
And I'm loved by You
It's who I am, it's who I am, it's who I am."
Blessings.
