Good morning.
It is noticeable that the more time we spend with someone, the better we understand where that person is coming from.
Our relationship with Jesus is similar. When we have a close connection with Him, we’re not praying to some cold and distant deity out there somewhere. We are speaking with God who loves us, sustains us, and moulds us into His own image. That changes how we approach Him, doesn’t it?
Jesus said: “This, then, is how you should pray: “ ‘Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.
(Matthew 6:9-10)
This is often referred to as the model prayer. It brings us into a personal relationship with our Father; one of intimacy and adoration. It shows us where our focus should be in our relationship with Him. It is all about Him, His kingdom, His will. How often we get this wrong, making our time with God all about ourselves and our needs and wants.
Let's make a concerted effort to work on our relationship with our Father.
Blessings.
