Good morning.
The hope we have in waiting is linked to God's faithfulness. He will do what He said He will do. As we look forward to the fulfillment of God's promises, we can rejoice in His presence today.
In verse 16 of chapter 3, Zephaniah uses the phrase—“on that day”—to promise a time of renewal. God encourages us to rejoice, even while we wait and endure what life brings our way, even hardship. Zephaniah connects the call to joy with God’s faithful presence among His people. Whatever we face, He will be with us. We may feel abandoned, but God is “a victorious warrior” who “will rejoice over us with shouts of joy” (v. 17).
The writer to the Hebrews puts it this way. "Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. Consider him who endured such opposition from sinners, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart. (Hebrews 12:1-3)
“The Lord is with you, mighty warrior.” (Judges 6:12)
Blessings.
