Good morning.
One of our deepest needs is to feel secure. We want to be valued; to know that our lives matter. We’re searching for significance.
The problem is, many of us search for significance in all the wrong places. We’re constantly comparing ourselves to other people. Inevitably, this leads to insecurity.
God wants all of us to be secure in His love. We need a fresh understanding of how much we matter to God; if how much He loves us.
The truth is:
• No matter how small we are, God notices us. From the moment we took our first breath He had His eye on us.
• No matter who ignores us, Jesus knows us. Sometimes we feel like no one is listening to us. God hears us. To Him we are unforgettable. “Can a mother forget the baby at her breast and have no compassion on the child she has borne? Though she may forget, I will not forget you! See, I have engraved you on the palms of my hands; your walls are ever before me." (Isaiah 49:15-16)
• No matter what we've done, God wants us. Because of things in our past we feel God won't accept us. Jesus is interested in changing us, not condemning us. "For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him." (John 3:17)
May we always remember how much we matter to God and how much He wants to use us for His glory.
Blessings.
