James 2:23 NIV: And the scripture was fulfilled that says, “Abraham believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness,” and he was called God’s friend. Abraham was know as a friend of God because of his faith. What a privilege to be known has God's friend.  Did you know though that as Christians we have even a higher privaledge than what Abraham had?  The Bible says that we are the adopted sons and daughters of God: Ephesians 1:5 NIV: "He predestined us for adoption to sonship through Jesus Christ, in accordance with his pleasure and will—" Also: Hebrews 2:11‭-‬13 NIV "Both the one who makes people holy and those who are made holy are of the same family. So Jesus is not ashamed to call them brothers and sisters.  He says, “I will declare your name to my brothers and sisters; in the assembly I will sing your praises.”  And again, “I will put my trust in him.” And again he says, “Here am I, and the children God has given me.” When we give our lives to Jesus we are adopted into God's family. What great privaledge God has given us!  As we continue to fast and pray and commit ourselves to God, let's remember what a great privaledge it is. Let us also remember, although we should have a healthy reverence for God, we never have to be afraid to speak with him cause he will never condemn us if, through faith in Jesus, we have become part of His family.  Romans 8:1‭-‬2 NIV "Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit who gives life has set you free from the law of sin and death."  Tonight we prayed about peace. Let the knowledge of being part of God's global family fill our hearts with such peace and purpose!

Genesis 15 vs 6: Abraham believed God and He credited it to Him as righteousness. I have really been feeling the Lord say that we need to trust Him in every trial that we face, daily, whether big or small. It is through trusting Him that we will gain the victory.  If we look at Abrahams life as an example, he faced many trials, but it was the ones where he trusted God that he gained victory and grew closer to God. In the trials where he relied on his own strength is where he created more hardships for himself. Abraham never lived a perfect life, but the moments of faith that he had, God credited to him as righteousness. What a gracious God we serve! He is willing, through Jesus, to overlook the worng we have done and credit to us the faith we have had as righteousness.  Trusting God is a daily intentional process we follow, like punching in coordinates into a GPS, every time we face a trial we make the decision to trust him through it. The good thing is, we will have victory if we do, we will grow closer to God, as Abraham did and we will be strengthened as people!  Like it says in 1 Peter 1:6‭-‬7: In all this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while you may have had to suffer grief in all kinds of trials. These have come so that the proven genuineness of your faith—of greater worth than gold, which perishes even though refined by fire—may result in praise, glory and honor when Jesus Christ is revealed.

Was walking yesterday and I saw a tree that had fallen over in the wind. I also noticed that it had very shallow roots. Felt God reminding me again that we need to be deeply rooted in Him.
Stay rooted in God. content media
