Good morning. A key factor in Jesus' ministry while on earth was the relationship that existed between Him and the Father, His total dependence on the Father. Jesus said, “Very truly I tell you, the Son can do nothing by himself; he can do only what he sees his Father doing, because whatever the Father does the Son also does. For the Father loves the Son and shows him all he does. Yes, and he will show him even greater works than these, so that you will be amazed." (John 5:19-20) The relationship between the Son and the Father was foundational. It was out of this love relationship that the Father could reveal to the Son what He was doing. The Father desires this same love relationship with us. He has given Holy Spirit to indwell us and to reveal the Father's ways to us. "But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you." (John 14:26) "But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all the truth. He will not speak on his own; he will speak only what he hears, and he will tell you what is yet to come." Good morning. "See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are! The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know him." (1 John 3:1) What a way to start the new day, being reminded of the Father's great love for us. One of our favourite hymns which declares God's love for us is "I stand amazed in the presence." "I stand amazed in the presence Of Jesus the Nazarene, And wonder how He could love me, A sinner condemned, unclean. How marvelous! How wonderful! And my song shall ever be: How marvelous! How wonderful! Is my Savior’s love for me!" The last verse of this great hymn says it all. "When with the ransomed in glory His face I at last shall see, ’Twill be my joy through the ages To sing of His love for me." "How marvelous! How wonderful! And my song shall ever be: How marvelous! Good morning. The great thing about walking with the Father daily, is that He is not going to hang you out to dry. He is with you 24/7/365, leading you, guiding you, caring for you each step you take, every breath you take. When you are feeling down, He is with you. "But you, Lord , are a shield around me, my glory, the One who lifts my head high." (Psalms 3:3) When you are taking a knock healthwise, He says, "I am the Lord , who heals you.” (Exodus 15:26) No matter your circumstances He says, " Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? Yet not one of them will fall to the ground outside your Father’s care. And even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. So don’t be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows." (Matthew 10:29-31) He is true to His word. He cares for you. He will provide for you. “I have loved you with an everlasting love; I have drawn you with unfailing kindness." Good morning. Michael W Smith, in one of His songs sings: "Oh God, You are my God Oh God, You are my God And I will ever praise You I will seek You in the morning And I will learn to walk in Your ways And Step by step You'll lead me And I will follow You all of my days" When we are faced with life's choices, living in close relationship with our Father, we too will be able to sing with absolute confidence "And Step by step You'll lead me." Spending time with God, in His Word, enables us to echo the words of the Psalmist. "Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path." (Psalms 119:105) Have a great day reflecting on God's Word and then face life's choices with confidence. "The Lord himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.” (Deuteronomy 31:8) Blessings. Mike and Daphne

Good morning. It has been said that life consists of a series of choices. The Israelites were presented with a choice. "See, I set before you today life and prosperity, death and destruction. This day I call the heavens and the earth as witnesses against you that I have set before you life and death, blessings and curses. Now choose life, so that you and your children may live." (Deuteronomy 30:15, 19) Followers of Christ have a huge advantage over unbelievers. We are able to ask God for guidance. Jesus tells His followers, "If you, then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him! (Matthew 7:11) Psalmist 37:4 says, "Take delight in the Lord , and he will give you the desires of your heart." Have a good day as you delight yourself on the Lord. Blessings. Mike and Daphne

Good morning. How was your day yesterday? We trust your light shone brightly. In his book "Unexplainable: Pursuing a Life Only God Can Make Possible", Don Cousins writes: "God wants to do the inconceivable, the uncommon, the unexpected, the remarkable, the incomprehensible, so that He - God - is the only explanation for what occurs in our lives." The depth of our relationship with God will determine how much we experience what Don Cousins talks about. Paul tell us that what God is able to do will blow our minds. He says in Ephesians 3:20, "Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us..." Dream big. 2021 04 16 Good morning. Living as a follower of Christ in 2021means living a countercultural life. So much of what we do and how we do it cuts right across society's norms. "I'll get you back!", says the world. Christ says, "Forgive." The world asks, "What's in it for Me?" The Christian asks, "How can I assist?" Paul says to us, "Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship. Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will." (Romans 12:1-2) To live a countercultural life, the follower of Christ, constantly needs to have his/her mind renewed. This happens when we daily present ourselves as a sacrifice to God so that He can use us to live for Him. "let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven." (Matthew 5:16) Enjoy shining for Him today. Blessings. Mike and Daphne

Good morning. Here we are at Thankful Thursday, again. As a matter of fact every day of the week should be Thankful day. It is easy for us to wonder where God is when life throws a curve ball our way. There appears to be so much hurt and sorrow all around. However, looking back on our lives we see God's goodness towards us. We see how much He cares for us, how much He loves us. Psalms 66:1-4 says it all. "Shout for joy to God, all the earth! Sing the glory of his name; make his praise glorious. Say to God, “How awesome are your deeds! So great is your power that your enemies cringe before you. All the earth bows down to you; they sing praise to you, they sing the praises of your name.” Will you take a moment to look back and see God's goodness towards you over the years? Good morning. Being a witness, telling others the Good news that Jesus saves, is about extending the Kingdom of God. We play a part in a bigger picture. Every time we witness for Christ, He is exalted, and the Kingdom advances. Right now we at GraceCov are in expansion mode. The lockdown has been a challenge; a challenge to be innovative in ensuring that the gospel still gets out to the world in which we live. God created us to be in community, not to remain in isolation. To this end GraceCov has made provision for expansion. We have made provision for overflow seating at both our 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. meetings on Sundays. Each one of us is part of God's plan for the advancing of His kingdom. Isaiah reminds us to “Enlarge the place of your tent, stretch your tent curtains wide, do not hold back; lengthen your cords, strengthen your stakes." Good morning to you.. When it comes to witnessing for and about Christ, timing is of the essence. Much like approaching a traffic light, we need to know when we should not proceed, when we should pause and when we should go ahead. Alexander Pope in his poem "An Essay on Criticism" wrote the line: "For fools rush in where angels fear to tread." Timing. Timing is important when it comes to witnessing. Paul writing to Timothy says to him, "Preach the word; be prepared in season and out of season..." (2 Timothy 4:2a) In other words, be ready at all times. As followers of Christ we should take to heart what Paul wrote to the church in Galatia. "Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit." (Galatians 5:25) When we do this, He will lead us. When Jesus sent out the 12, He said to them, "...do not worry about what to say or how to say it. At that time you will be given what to say," (Matthew 10:19) It is up to us to trust Holy Spirit to lead and guide us each moment of the day. He will not let us down. Have a lovely day. Blessings. Good morning. Being a witness for Christ takes courage in this world which demands political correctness. The world cries out when anyone dares to take a stand for Christ by sharing the good news of Jesus Christ. Jesus had this to say to His disciples: “But before all this, they will seize you and persecute you. They will hand you over to synagogues and put you in prison, and you will be brought before kings and governors, and all on account of my name. And so you will bear testimony to me. Stand firm, and you will win life." (Luke 21:12-13, 19) Jesus could have been talking to us in this day and age. In Deuteronomy 31:6 God says: "Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.” When we courageously witness for Christ, our Lord and Saviour, stand firm for He is with us. Good morning. This is the day that the Lord has made. Let us rejoice and be glad in it. Here we are at the start of another day in which we can honour God for who He is and for what He has done for us. There is so much to be thankful for. In Acts 3 we read of Peter and John going up to the temple as it was time for prayer. Little did they know that God was about to use them in a miraculous way. All they did was to head off to pray with and have fellowship with other believers. Who knows what God has planned for you today as you go and join with other followers of Jesus Christ in worship and service. May your time of worship, service and fellowship be a wonderful time of refreshing. Don't be surprised if God uses you in a special way today. Blessings. Mike and Daphne
